Action Planning Tool

In a nutshell, “Close-the-loop”…

MEG’s Action Planning tool allows you to transform issues raised during clinical audit activities, or reported incidents, into actual care improvements across all sites in your hospital(s) and deliver assurance of regulatory compliance.

The award-winning Audit module and/or Incident Reporting module both integrate with the Action Planning tool. When issues/observations are highlighted during an audit (or incident report) they are automatically logged in the QIP tool for follow up.

Use the Action Planning tool to prioritise issues/incidents by risk level, delegate and track the status of corrective actions, and build in quality assurance to the entire process (closed-loop system).

How does it work?

 The tool acts as a hub for displaying and managing observations (issues) raised during audits, inspections or following an incident report.

When issues/observations are highlighted during an audit or incident report, they are automatically logged in the Action Plan for follow up.

Within any given reported ‘Observation/Issue’, a manager is then able to:

  • categorise and filter it by risk level (low, moderate, high… coloured-coded respectively);

  • (for more complex issues) create multiple, actionable ‘Sub-issues’ that must be completed in order to ‘close out’ the original ‘Observation/Issue’ ;

  • assign tasks to relevant people right across the organisation (with an ’Issue Handling’ permission level or higher) e.g. housekeeping, Facilities Management, HR, IPC team members etc.;

  • record clarifications and commentary associated with the relevant ‘Observation/Issue’ or indeed ‘Sub-issue’, providing a clear communication trail between involved parties when needed.

  • easily introduce a ‘Quality Assurance’ step, where the corrective action(s) is passed back to management for review before finally being ‘Closed’.

  • get detailed reports and KPI dashboards on the status of non-compliance issues/observation issues e.g. percentage of corrective actions closed over defined period of time

MEG’s Action Planning tool is the workhorse for modern healthcare teams involved in any aspect of Quality Improvement & Patient Safety management; a central place to be able to transform audit and incident reporting activities into delivered care improvements.
